*Service of the originating *process outside England and Wales. *Leave of the court is required, which will only be granted in a limited number of situations specified by *rules of court. In general, some particular connection must be shown between the defendant or the subject matter of the proceedings and the jurisdiction of the English courts. If the defendant is domiciled in a member state of the EEC, the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Act 1982 normally requires him to be sued in the courts of his domicile.
